More Arkansans early voted this election compared to 2020

Early voting turnout was higher in 2024 as over 845,000 Arkansas voters showed up to cast their ballot.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — More people in Arkansas voted early in the 2024 elections compared to 2020 numbers, according to an official with the Secretary of State's office.

The state is reporting that 845,809 people voted early with 30,754 absentee votes collected.

That numbers surpasses the 834,583 that early voted in 2020. In 2016, 619,145 people voted early in Arkansas.

There are currently 1,828,245 registered voters in Arkansas with many of those expecting to vote on Election Day. 

Arkansas ranked 51st in the nation for voter turnout in the 2020 election, according to a report by the Arkansas Civic Health Index. Around 54% of registered voters cast a ballot in that election, which is well below the national average of 66.8%.
