Bruce Westerman wins reelection to Arkansas's 4th Congressional District, AP projects

Rep. Bruce Westerman has won Arkansas's 4th Congressional District seat, according to the Associated Press.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Republican incumbent Congressman Bruce Westerman has won reelection defeating Democratic challenger Risie Howard, according to the Associated Press.

Westerman currently leads with 72% of the votes as 61% of the votes have been counted as of 9:30 p.m.

The congressman was first elected in 2014, succeeding Tom Cotton who would end up winning one of Arkansas's two Senate seats that same year.

Westerman has secured at least 66% of the votes in the last five elections. 

He represents the 4th Congressional District which covers the majority of southern Arkansas counties and parts of Northwest Arkansas.

He currently serves on the Committee on Natural Resources as the chairman and the Committee  on Transportation and Infrastructure.
