OKLAHOMA, USA — U.S. Rep. Josh Brecheen announced he is vying for a second term as Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District's representative on April 2.
The incumbent was first elected in 2022 and assumed office in 2023.
For a little over a year, he has served the 28 counties, which are predominantly on the eastern side of the state, in Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District.
In a second term, Brecheen said he would focus on deficit spending, securing the border, and ensuring policies adhere to the Constitution.
"Inflation, driven by currency devaluation due to reckless congressional spending, is costing the average family of four $1300 more per month as compared to January of 2021 ... I will continue to use the leverage Eastern Oklahomans have afforded me in Congress to rein in deficit spending, illegal border crossings, weaponized bureaucracies, unconstitutional policies, and that which is counter to biblical virtues," Brecheen said.
The Oklahoma primary elections will be on June 18 with early voting beginning on June 13. So far, Brecheen has no Republican opponents to face in the primary.
In the general election on Nov. 5, Brecheen will be up against Democratic candidate Brandon Wade, who also does not face an opponent in the primary.
