Dr. Williams Yamkam
Having earned a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and Ph.D. in political science, Dr. Yamkam brings years of hard-earned knowledge to the table and to his students at UAFS, where he teaches courses covering political analysis.
Dr. Yamkam supplements his professional expertise with hands-on experience, having spent time working as a policy advisor for the U.S. Congress and during a fellowship with a bi-partisan lobbying group in Washington D.C. He also served as a political commentator for Talk Business & Politics in Arkansas, an online political news source.
Dr. Yamkam has organized several events and organizations meant to drive up community engagement in the political process, earning a national award from the Civic Nation's ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge that recognized a noticeable increase in voter registrations at UAFS following his efforts.
John C. Davis
Davis earned bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from the U of A, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri before turning his sights on using his education to educate and support those around him.
Davis served as an associate professor of political science at the University of Arkansas at Monticello while working as the director of governmental relations for that institute. While there, Davis distinguished himself as an educated political mind with a passion for state politics and policy.
Having authored numerous works, including the book From Blue to Red: The Rise of the GOP in Arkansas, Davis is uniquely positioned to discuss the past, present, and possible future of politics in Arkansas.
In 2023, Davis was named the director of the U of A's Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History, alongside his work at the Department of Political Science.
