ARKANSAS, USA — Jan. 11 is National Arkansas Day. Arkansas is also known nicknamed the "Natural State" for its natural beauty.
Arkansas exhibits endless lakes, rivers, mountains and wildlife.

4 fun facts about Arkansas:
- The name Arkansas came from the Native American term "Arkansaw" to refer to rival tribes. This was after the French colonized the state. They gave the word a special French twist as can be seen by the silent "s" at the end of the name.
- Arkansas is home to the only public diamond mine in the U.S. and one of just a handful in the world.
- Central High School in Little Rock was one of the first racially integrated schools in the nation after the landmark Supreme Court decision segregated schools.
- Arkansas is the largest producer of rice in the nation producing about half of the country's rice on nearly one and a half million acres dedicated to just rice farming.
