Arkansas reduces credit card fees for revenue office transactions, installs new payment devices

This is a constructive outcome for 134 revenue offices across the state.

ARKANSAS, USA — The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) announced it is reducing credit card fees for all revenue office transactions.

This is a constructive outcome for 134 revenue offices across the state. Here's what that change will look like:

Before: 2.75% credit card fee with $2 minimum.

Now: 1.6% credit card fee with no minimum charge.

DFA said these changes are expected to "save Arkansans more than $2.45 million" annually. All revenue offices will also install over 800 new payment devices by the end of 2024.

DFA said these new devices will reduce the potential for fraud and improve customer experience.

DFA Secretary Jim Hudson said this is a response to the governor's request to "find creative ways to streamline services and save Arkansans money."
