ROGERS, Ark. — A developer of drone technology founded to help the U.S. military will build its manufacturing plant in Rogers after surveying locations across 20 different states.
The company, aptly named Swarm Aero, produces "large uncrewed aerial vehicle swarms," the announcement says.
Swarm Aero's main goal in manufacturing the drones is to provide "cutting-edge defense capabilities" and technology that keeps the U.S. military servicemen and women "out of harm's way."
Danny Goodman, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Swarm Aero said, "Rogers was the perfect place for us. The facilities were great, the community was welcoming and we felt very much wanted here."
Swarm Aero is headquartered in Oxnard, Calif., and amid the announcement of the new manufacturing facility in Arkansas, is working with Rogers community leaders to plan the facility.
"I thank Congressman Steve Womack for listening to our story and making the introductions that made this possible. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of his district," Goodman said.
The company was founded in 2022, according to the announcement. The team claims to have an "extraordinary pedigree in working with the Department of Defense (DOD) to fulfill critical needs and requirements as well as decades of aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Airbus, Archer, and others."
