TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation announced the groundbreaking of a new hospital that'll expand healthcare services for Cherokee and Native citizens in Tahlequah.
The groundbreaking will be on Thursday, April 6, at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center where the new hospital will replace the aging W.W. Hastings Hospital.
The new hospital will span 400,000 square feet, including 127 beds, and a helipad, according to the Cherokee Nation announcement.
Other services that will be offered:
- emergency room
- surgery
- ICU
- imaging
- pharmacy and lab
- neo-natal ICU
- hospice
- dietary and acute care
- and more
The groundbreaking begins at 1 p.m. on April 6.
