Arkoma police chief updates the public as the search for Harmoni Jacks continues into its fourth day

Authorities say Jacks went missing under suspicious circumstances.

LE FLORE COUNTY, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has released further information about the search for Harmoni Gail Jacks, a woman who was last seen in the early morning of July 7.

A Kasey Alert was posted for Jacks, 24, on behalf of the Arkoma Police Department (APD) on July 9. Kasey Alerts are sent in a situation where an adult is reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Jacks is described as being 5'1" with red hair and blue eyes. She was reportedly last seen driving early Sunday morning.

Hunter McKee with OSBI had previously said they believed she was heading toward Greenwood. However, investigators now think she was heading toward Pocola instead.

OSBI is asking that anybody who sees her or knows where she could be to call 911 or contact OSBI.

In a July 9 press conference in front of Jacks's Arkoma home, McKee confirmed the disappearance was deemed suspicious when Jacks remained missing for over two days.

The car Jacks was last seen driving is a red 2012 Nissan Altima with a missing front bumper, tinted windows, and an Oklahoma plate reading JYD 879. Her sister said the Nissan is a two-door.

On July 10, Arkoma Police Chief Michael Ivy told 5NEWS that authorities have obtained footage showing Jacks's Altima heading south on Highway 112 towards Pocola around 3:30 a.m., but Ivy points out the footage does not necessarily mean Jacks was inside the car at that time.

Police Chief Ivy said he feels confident Jacks will be found, "We're rapidly moving forward. I feel great bout the pace of the investigation."

Helicopter crews have also been deployed to assist in the search.

Jacks's sisters, Felicia and Rhyanna, have searched multiple places she was known to visit like Natural Dam and Devil's Den, with no luck. They say Jacks left home to meet a friend around 4 a.m., but a few hours later they got a call from her son's father saying he couldn't get a hold of her.

"We're asking for the public's help at this time. We need everything, every bit of information, as soon as possible," said McKee.

OSBI is reportedly still searching for Jacks in both Oklahoma and Arkansas, and Police Chief Ivy said they have people of interest, but no suspects at this time. Police also said they cannot rule out foul play.

When asked what Jack's sisters would say to her, they said "Come home, we love her, and we miss her."

What is a Kasey Alert?

A Kasey Alert is issued when an adult goes missing under "suspicious circumstances."

According to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, House Bill 1077, authored by Representative Ken Luttrell, authorized the creation of the Kasey Alert System in 2023.

Named after Kasey Russell, a 29-year-old man and Cherokee Nation Citizen who went missing in 2016, the alert aims to notify authorities and the public when any Oklahoma adult is reported critically missing, similar to an Amber Alert.
