VAN BUREN, Ark. — Established in 1986, the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad has offered multiple holiday-themed round-trip tourist rides across the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas... Their latest idea: a scenic trip from Van Buren to Winslow scheduled just hours after the Total Solar Eclipse passes over our area.
On April 8, a solar eclipse will be visible across the U.S., but the path of totality, or complete darkness, will pass directly over Arkansas.
The Arkansas-Missouri Railroad Post-Totality Tour will depart from Van Buren at 4 p.m. on April 8, giving anyone a chance to catch the eclipse before hopping onboard.
The railroad is also offering regular Van Buren to Winslow rides on April 6 and 7 at 11 a.m. The excursion train ride is a major tourist attraction for visitors and locals alike who are interested in taking a ride around the area with scenic views of the Boston Mountains.
