FORT SMITH, Ark. — Lanes will be closed down from April 1 - 12 on Fort Smith's Garrison Avenue bridge as crews are performing routine inspections, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT).
The bridge on Highway 64 that crosses the Arkansas River into downtown Fort Smith is set to see a few more traffic cones during the solar eclipse on April 8, which state officials predict could be "the largest tourism event in Arkansas' history."
The closures are expected to run daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to ARDOT.
