VAN BUREN, Arkansas — Van Buren football is coming into 2024 off of a 5-7 season that ended in the second round of playoffs.
The Pointers are returning a lot from last season, but this season's quarterback is still in question.
Head coach Moe Henry is deciding between sophomore Hayden Williford and junior Tristan Ray, who spent last season at cornerback.
The good news for whoever is stepping in as quarterback is that five of the top six offensive linemen are back this season.
Even with a new face leading the office, Henry is hoping his team stays competitive.
"We lost a couple of games that year that we felt like was a difference in us being a higher seed in the playoffs," Henry said. "If we can go out and compete and finish games, we feel like we'll give ourselves a chance to have a pretty decent playoff run."
Van Buren opens the 2024 season on the road at Alma on Aug. 29.
