Springdale Bulldogs coach hopes stadium upgrades bring his team confidence this season

The Bulldogs made upgrades to the field, turf, and scoreboard ahead of the 2024 season.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Springdale football team played with a new offensive scheme last season and are hoping to use it to their advantage this season.

Along with the offense, the Bulldogs have a big senior class that has the experience needed to try to turn things around.

The Bulldogs are also bringing back some much-needed leadership with Xavier Engle and Colby Cooks returning on the offensive line to protect third-year quarterback Jack Pounders.

Head coach Brett Hobbs said it's about focusing on themselves this season.

"We need to go out and try to do our best and get better every single day," Hobbs said. "Hopefully, we can start off fast that way it will build us some confidence. With the new field, the new turf, and the new jumbotron, I think that gives the guys a little more excitement and hopefully a little more confidence too."

Springdale will open the season at home hosting Little Rock Central on Aug. 30.
