FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Gymbacks continue to prove that they are one of the best teams in the country this year as they bested the #13 Auburn Tigers 197.225 - 196.675 in front of a sold out Barnhill arena.
Arkansas was first on the vault where they posted a team score of 49.225, while individually Leah Smith and Frankie Price topped the standings each with a score of 9.875.
From there the Gymbacks rotated to the bars, where Cally Swaney scored a career high 9.9 on her pass, with teammates Reese Drotar and Maddie Jones matching the dual nines score. Overall the group combined to bring in a 49.400.
The third event of the evening saw the home team take to the beam, where for the second week in a row Kalyxta Gamiao had a strong showing landing a 9.875, with teammate Maddie Jones mirroring the score. Despite the strong showing, the event would be the lowest team score of Friday at 49.125.
Finally, the Gymbacks took to the floor where Lauren Williams dazzled with a 9.95 on the judges scorecards leading the way for an impressive team score of 49.475.
The overall score of 197.225 makes Arkansas three-for-three on the season scoring 197 at a meet.
The Gymbacks improve to 2-0-1 with the win and will face LSU in Baton Rouge Friday February 2 at 7:30 P.M.
