FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Alabama Crimson Tide (17-6, 4-4 SEC) defeated the Razorbacks (16-7, 4-4) on their home court at Bud Walton Arena on Feb. 1.
Although the Razorbacks were riding back-to-back wins against Kentucky and Missouri, they fell to the Crimson Tide, 86-70.
Early on it looked like it was going to be a down to the wire affair as the Razorbacks and Tide traded buckets with the score sitting at 20-19 in favor of Alabama after one quarter.
However a 23-6 second frame for the Crimson Tide gave them the ability to coast through most of the game.
Arkansas was able to cut it to a nine point lead with about three minutes left in the fourth after starting the quarter down by 20. However the games leading scorer Sarah Ashlee Barker would score seven of her 25 to seal the win for Bama.
For the Razorbacks Saylor Poffenbarger once again led the scoring pouring in 23, while Samara Spencer (14), Makayla Daniels (11), Maryam Dauda (10) and Taliah Scott (10) who returned after a six game absence all posted double digits in scoring.
The Hogs will look to rebound in another home game against Auburn on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.
