COLLEGE STATION, Ark. — With the regular season winding down, the Arkansas Razorbacks have little time left to make a meaningful run in SEC play. However a 78-71 win on the road over Texas A&M Tuesday could provide a decent starting point for a turnaround.
The Hogs entered the game against the Aggies as the first Eric Musselman team in his 9-year Head Coaching career to fall under .500 in a season.
They were able to draw back to even (13-13) though behind a 26 point night by Tramon Mark, as well as a 22 point night by Makhi Mitchell coming off the bench.
After a close first half and a competitive start to the second, Arkansas seemed to be closing the game down as they opened up a 10-point lead with 4:40 left.
Texas A&M was not willing to concede though, pulling to within five with just over 30 seconds left.
However, the Razorbacks were steady from the line and were able to close it out by hitting crucial free throws to solidify the 78-71 win.
Arkansas will now look to win back-to-back SEC games for the first time this season as they face the last place Missouri Tigers, Saturday at 11:00 A.M. back at Bud Walton Arena.
