FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas football (1-1) vs University of Alabama-Birmingham (1-1)

A win is a win. It wasn't pretty, but the Razorbacks ensured their return to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium was a successful one with a 37-27 victory over the UAB Blazers.

1st Quarter:

UAB proved early on that they weren't going away easily getting out to an early lead with about six minutes left in the first quarter.

On Arkansas' first drive, Taylen Green's second interception of his Razorback career was a costly one as the Blazers used it to score the first touchdown of the day to have a 10-0 early lead.

Things seemed to be looking up with Arkansas recovered the onside kick at the UAB 23 but two bad throws from Green and the Hogs would only come away with a field goal.

2nd Quarter:

It didn't get better in the start of the second quarter with UAB scoring within the first few seconds from a 34 yard touchdown pass from Jacob Zeno to Amare Thomas.

Arkansas responds finding the endzone for the first time of the day with a two yard rushing touchdown from Braylen Russell.

This kick started something in the Hogs as Green used his legs for a 14 yard rushing touchdown to tie the game up at 17.

The two teams would trade field goals from there and head into the half tied 20-20.

3rd Quarter:

The tie would be broken five minutes into the second half though as Arkansas drove 84-yards and punctuated the march with a 16-yard Jackson touchdown run to make it 27-20.

The defense would quickly get the ball back for the Razorback offense who would threaten with seven again, but an offensive holding penalty would push them back and a missed field goal ensured the drive ended empty.

4th Quarter

The Hogs next drive however yielded better results. After another defensive stand the offense drove down yet were once again denied the endzone, however the Ramsey 40-yard field goal made it a two score game at 30-20.

The Blazers would respond with a touchdown pass from Zeno to Dallas Payne with 6:55 left in the game to cut the Razorback lead to just three.

However a 3:19 drive and a Green nine-yard rushing touchdown would push the lead back to double-digits 37-27 with 3:36 on the clock.

UAB had one last gasp at a comeback, but an Arkansas interception ended their hopes and sealed the 37-27 win.

Arkansas improves to 2-1 on the season and will now begin SEC play on the road against the Auburn Tigers on September 21.
