FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas announced that they will be adding the logos of Walmart and Tyson Foods onto their home field.
The university shared the news on Thursday, stating that the decision is in coordination with Learfield's Razorback Sports Properties and represents a sponsorship extension with both Tyson Foods and Walmart.
According to the press release, the decision to feature the logos now makes Arkansas "one of the first college athletics programs to feature on-field logos during home football games."
As for where the logos will be located on the field? Well, the university stated that the logos will be found at each of the 25-yard lines of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and will debut on Sept. 14 when the Hogs welcome the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Hunter Yurachek, who serves as Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics at the University of Arkansas, shared his gratitude —he thanked both Walmart and Tyson Foods for their "longtime" partnership and willingness to support the program.
“[Walmart and Tyson Foods'] investment continues to be meaningful in the lives of our 465 Razorback student-athletes and our program. It is only fitting that when fans watch the Hogs play at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, they will be reminded of two Arkansas born success stories that transformed our state and reshaped our world.”
That same enthusiasm was shared by representatives of both Walmart and Tyson Foods, who shared their excitement to "commit" to the Hogs.
“This is an opportunity to make a commitment to the Razorback nation and elevate our brand both in Arkansas and to fans across the country,” said Donnie King, President and CEO of Tyson Foods.
