FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman has relieved offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos of his duties and he is no longer a member of the Razorbacks’ program effective immediately.
Wide receivers coach and former Ohio State quarterback Kenny Guiton will take over play-calling duties for the Hogs for the remainder of the season.
The Razorbacks are on a bye this week and return to action on Nov. 4 at Florida before finishing with three straight games at home beginning Nov. 11 against Auburn.
Many members of the Razorback community thought that this move was for the best:
“You can't have an offense doing what this offense has been doing over the past few weeks," said the host of the Locked On Razorbacks Podcast, John Nabors, "and then finally putting up three points in front of your home fans ... only because the defense got an interception at the beginning of the game.”
When asked how new play-caller Kenny Guiton can improve the offense, Nabors suggested, “Do What the team does best ... instead of having KJ sit back in the pocket for five seconds, get the ball out of his hands quickly. Don't rely too much on the offensive line having to do mass protection, get the ball to guys like Isaiah Satena quickly, and just let them go make plays.”
Even students were excited about the new move. “I was happy to see the news that he got fired, I mean, especially homecoming weekend .... Three points ain't gonna cut it anymore,” said Leyton Robinson, a student at the University of Arkansas.
