BATON ROUGE, La. — After falling to #7 in the rankings despite winning their last meet, the Gymbacks went into their top ten showdown with #5 LSU with something to prove, unfortunately it was their worst showing of the season.
The 196.200 against the Tigers program record setting high-score of 198.475, was the first time this season that the Razorbacks failed to post at least 197 points on the score cards. Arkansas also did not claim a first place finisher in any of the four events for the first time as well.
Arkansas' best event and bright spot of the evening was on the beam where they posted a new season high of 49.450 however LSU's 49.625 was too much to overcome.
As for the other events LSU took them 49.525-49.200 on vault, 49.550-48.175 on the uneven bars and 49.775-49.375.
With the loss the Gymbacks drop to 2-1-1 on the season. They will look to get back into the win column Friday Feb. 9 on the road at Florida. That meet will start at 6:30 P.M.
