Hogs Drop Series Finale At Auburn

Arkansas Drops Series Against Auburn.
Auburn

AUBURN (KFSM)- Despite Arkansas rallying to tie the game several times Sunday, Auburn was able to hold off the Razorbacks in the series finale winning 11-6. The Razorbacks drop to 32-10 and 12-6 in conference play.

Just like in Saturday’s game Arkansas’ starting pitcher didn’t last long on the mound. Josh Alberius ran into trouble in the bottom of the second inning. The redshirt senior made it just 1 2/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on five hits in his outing. Reliever Kevin Kopps’ day would be even shorter on the bump. Kopps gave up three hits and walked two in jut one inning. After that, the bullpen struggled to silent the Tigers’ bats.

The Razorbacks were able to tie things up in the top of the fourth inning behind a Chad Spanberger two-run single. The Tigers responded in the bottom of the fourth inning after Auburn’s Luke Jarvis has a sac fly to take back the lead 6-5. The Hogs would tie the game once again in the seventh inning after Luke Bonfield brought Jake Arledge home, but just like before, the tie would be short-lived. Reliever Cannon Chadwick walked a batter and gave up back-to-back doubles before being pulled.

Next, the Razorbacks will play Kansas State at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri Tuesday at 6.p.m
