#2 Razorbacks sweep Murray State

Freshman Nolan Souza hit his first home run as a Razorback in the third inning.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Junior southpaw Mason Molina helped lead No. 2 Arkansas (9-2) to complete the sweep against Murray State (6-5), 5-3, Sunday afternoon.

Molina went five innings with ten strikeouts and allowed one run on two hits. Molina's strikeout total is at 29 for the season.

Murray State got on the board first with a solo home run from Taylor Howell in the top of the second inning.

Arkansas answered backed in the bottom of the third with a leadoff home run from Nolan Souza. The Razorbacks would go on to take the lead off of a sacrifice fly from Kendall Diggs.

The Razorbacks would add two more in the next inning before the Racers would come back to make it a one-run game in the seventh inning.

Arkansas would score an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Right-hander Will McEntire was pitched in relief for the second day in a row. He went 3.2 innings allowing one run on three hits and struck out five.

Arkansas continues the homestand hosting Central Arkansas Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
