#2 Razorbacks shutout James Madison to take series

Freshman pitcher Colin Fisher went five scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Freshman pitcher Colin Fisher led No. 2 Arkansas (3-1) to a 4-0 series-clinching win against James Madison (1-3) Monday afternoon.

With this win, the Hogs clinched their 28th consecutive non-conference home weekend series win. The last time Arkansas dropped a non-conference home weekend series was to South Alabama in 2014.

The Hogs gave Fisher run support early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning off of Ben McLaughlin's two-RBI single.

Arkansas added another run in the bottom of the third, scoring off of a two-out RBI single from Jayson Jones. Wehiwa Aloy made a four-run game in the seventh with a bases loaded RBI single to center.

In his first outing as a Razorback, Fisher went five scoreless innings allowing three hits and punched out four.

Koty Frank came on in relief in the sixth throwing a scoreless frame, retiring the side in order. Will McEntire struck out the side in the seventh before blanking JMU in the eighth.

Stone Hewlett closed out the ninth with a scoreless frame to complete the shutout.

Arkansas heads to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas to participate in the Kubota College Baseball Series. The Hogs open up the series taking on No. 7 Oregon State Friday at 7 p.m.
