FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — No. 1 Arkansas baseball (17-2, 3-0 SEC) completed the sweep against Missouri (9-11, 0-3), 9-1, Sunday afternoon.
With this win, Arkansas has now won seven consecutive SEC Opening Weekend series and clinched their sixth conference-opening sweep in their last seven since 2017.
The Razorbacks got the scoring going early plating two runs in the bottom of the first. Kendall Diggs had an RBI double and Ben McLaughlin had a sacrifice fly in the frame.
The scoring continued in the third inning with a solo home run from McLaughlin to help extend the lead 3-0. Arkansas added two more runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and one run in the seventh.
Missouri's only run of the game came in the top of the seventh with a solo home run from Thomas Curry.
Southpaw Mason Molina kept the Tigers scoreless through 5.1 innings and matched his season high with ten strikeouts.
Arkansas heads on the road to take on Auburn Thursday-Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday evening on the SEC Network.
