FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas baseball used strong offense to take the first game of the Fayetteville regional against Southeast Missouri, 17-9.
Arkansas used home runs from Hudson White and Ben McLaughlin to take a 8-0 lead early in the game.
SEMO would put up four answered runs in the third and added four more in the fifth to tie the game up at 8-8.
In the bottom of the fifth, back-to-back home runs from Wehiwa Aloy and Kendall Diggs would put Arkansas back on top.
SEMO would cut the lead to five in the top of the seventh with Bryce Cannon's double to center. However, McLaughlin hit his second home run of the day this time it was a three-run home run to make the lead 14-9.
White would hit his second home run of the day with a three-run blast to left center in the bottom of the eighth to make this game out of reach.
Mason Molina made his first start since May 12 going 2.2 IP allowing four runs on two hits while striking out four and walking four. Gabe Gaeckle did three innings of relief allowing one run on three hits and striking out six.
Arkansas will play the winner out of Kansas State/Louisiana Tech Saturday night at 8 p.m.
