Longhorns beat Razorbacks as the old rivalry is renewed in the SEC

In their first game as SEC opponents, #3 Texas outlasts Arkansas to improve to 10-1.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas and Texas renewed their rivalry for the first time as SEC opponents and unfortunately for Hogs fans, round one went to the third ranked Longhorns 20-10.

Texas: 7

Taylen Green's pass intended for Tyrone Broden was intercepted by Jahdae Barron to put the Longhorns back on the field. From that, Quinn Ewers would find Matthew Golden wide open in the endzone.

Bert Auburn nails a 39-yard field goal to increase Texas' lead,

Texas: 13

Bert Auburn hits a 33-yard field goal to make it 13-0 Longhorns.

Arkansas would answer with a 75-yard drive that ended with a Ja'Quinden Jackson one-yard touchdown plunge to make it a one score game.

Texas: 20

Arkansas would strike again less than three minutes into the fourth quarter with a 44-yard Matthew Shipley field goal to close within three.

Texas would respond with their best drive of the day that saw them go 75-yards and put seven on the board with a Quinn Ewers 1-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Golden, pushing the lead back to two scores.
