FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — After setting a career high in sacks (3.5) and tackles (11) against Alabama, junior defensive end Landon Jackson was named the Defensive Lineman of the week by the SEC.
It's hard to argue against the conference's selection as Jackson is now the only player in the SEC with 3.5 sacks in a game this season.
His performance doesn't just represent a personal best though, it also sits among some of the best single game outings in program history as well.
Jackson's 3.5 sacks are the most by an Arkansas defender since Trey Flowers hit the same mark against Auburn in 2012 they are also the most notched against Alabama, since Antwain Robinson's mark of 2.5 set in 2006.
The Texarkana product also wrangled a career best 11 tackles against the Crimson Tide, making it the first time he has had more than 10 tackles in a game.
With his stellar showing, the junior defensive end now ranks as the Razorbacks season leader in tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (5.5).
After playing their first four conference games away from home since 1925, Jackson and the Hogs return to Razorback stadium to face Mississippi State, Saturday at 11 A.M.
