FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — After two close victories to start the season, the Arkansas Razorbacks women's basketball team finally pulled away for a comfortable win Tuesday, besting Little Rock 77-36 and improving to 3-0 on the season.
The Trojans actually struck first at Bud Walton Arena, but the lead would only last just over two minutes before the Hogs seized it and never looked back.
Once again the star of the night was freshman Tahlia Scott who went 6-11 and led both teams in scoring with 18.
However she was far from alone in stellar production on the evening as three other Razorbacks reached double digit points: Maryam Dauda (15), Carly Keats (14) and Saylor Poffenbarger (12).
It was also Arkansas' best defensive showing of the season holding Little Rock to 24.6% shooting percentage from the field and 23.1% from three. They also forced 20 turnovers and out rebounded them defensively 34-25.
The Razorbacks will look to build on this momentum as their tour of Arkansas continues on Friday when they head to Jonesboro to face Arkansas State, tip-off set for 7:00 P.M.
