COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Arkansas Razorbacks entered the week with a golden opportunity to move themselves in the top half of the SEC standings with games against Texas A&M and Vanderbilt,
They stumbled in the first game of the pair at College Station falling to the Aggies Thursday night 73-67.
It was a close back and forth battle between the two for the majority of the game, coming down to the final minutes.
Arkansas took the lead with 2:44 left as Samara Spencer hit a three point shot to give her a game leading 24 on the night. However the Aggies would go on to score 6 unanswered to open up a two score lead.
A lead the Razorbacks would fail to overcome, despite pulling to within three off a Carly Keats lay-up with 17 seconds remaining.
With the loss, Arkansas drops into a three-way tie for seventh place in the SEC, a tie that they will be able to break with a win over Vanderbilt on Sunday back at Bud Walton.
