FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — No. 17 Arkansas softball (24-8, 3-3 SEC) fell to No. 20 Mississippi State (24-7, 5-4), 15-7, in run rule fashion Sunday afternoon.
Mississippi State opened up the scoring early with a two-run home run from Madisyn Kennedy in the first. The Bulldogs would add four more in the top of the second.
Arkansas would get two runs on the board in the bottom half of the second but Mississippi State would put up nine runs in the fourth to give them a commanding lead.
Laruen Camenzind got her first home run of the season and second of her career in the fourth inning.
Arkansas hosts Central Arkansas Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network+. The Hogs pick back up conference play at Georgia Friday-Sunday.
