FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — No. 12 Arkansas (37-18) softball's season came to an end falling to Villanova (33-23), 7-2, in the elimination game Saturday night.
The Razorbacks fell to Arizona, 2-1, in the first game of the day.
Villanova got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the third. Arkansas quickly tied things up with two solo home runs from Cylie Halvorson and Rylin Hedgecock in the top of the fourth.
Villanova would quickly turn the momentum back to their side in the next frame plating three runs to take a 5-2 lead.
Defensively, Morgan Leinstock went 3.2 innings allowing five runs on six hits while striking out three. Reis Beuerlein did 2.1 innings in relief allowing two runs on five hits and striking out two.
