FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — No. 17 Arkansas softball (24-7, 3-2) shutout No. 20 Mississippi State (23-7, 4-4), 3-0, Saturday afternoon to even the series.
This is the 10th shutout of the season for Arkansas. The Razorbacks also set a new single-game program record crowd of 3,811.
Pitchers Hannah Camenzind and Morgan Leinstock shined in the circle allowing two hits combined. Camenzind earned the win after four innings of work.
Leinstock came in at the top of the fifth with runners on second and third with no outs. The Arizona native worked out of the jam by punching out two and a groundout.
Offensively, the Hogs had six hits. Bri Ellis went 2-of-3 at the plate including a solo home run in the first inning. Raigan Kramer and Kennedy Miller also went 2-of-3 at the plate.
Arkansas and Mississippi State close out the series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
