FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — With the help of some explosive offense and pitcher Robyn Herron's two-hit shutout, Arkansas (20-5) defeated Northern Iowa in six innings, 9-0.
Herron pitched her third double-digit strikeout outing of the year, punching out ten batters. The southpaw allowed one walk in six innings.
Offensively, the Razorbacks scored nine runs on nine hits including two home runs. Arkansas got on the board early plating two in the first.
Arkansas plated some more runs in the second and sixth innings.
Freshman Kennedy Miller went 2-of-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored including a two-run walk-off home run. Bri Ellis went 2-of-3 with two runs scored.
Arkansas begins SEC play on the road at Auburn. The Hogs and Tigers open the series Friday at 5 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
