FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It felt like it was only a matter of time, but after the Razorbacks annual Red and White Spring Game, Head Coach Sam Pittman officially declared Boise State transfer Taylen Green the starting Quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
"Obviously Taylen Green is our quarterback," Pittman said after the game. "But after that it's a wide open race and I'm not saying any of them can't go get Taylen, I'm not saying that, but I believe he'll work hard to keep his position."
The declaration of Green as their starting quarterback comes after he threw three touchdowns for the red team, finding Andrew Armstron, Tyrone Broden and fellow transfer Ja'Quinden Jackson in the first half of the 38-12 victory.
Razorback fans will get their first look at Green against a real opponent Thursday August 29 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The Hogs season opening game will kickoff at 6:30 P.M. at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
