GAINESVILLE, Fla. — It was a top 15 showdown in Gainesville that the entire nation would see as the #13 Gymbacks squared off against the #6 Florida Gators on ESPN.
Unfortunately, for the second straight week Arkansas was unable to clear 197 on the judges scorecards and as a result came up short again, losing to the Gators 197.85-196.05.
The Gymbacks once again excelled on the floor posting the best total score out of their four events with a 49.425. They would also surpass the 49 point mark on the bars (49.175) and on the vault (49.025). They would struggle on the beam though landing a total score of 48.425.
With the loss the Gymbacks drop to 2-2-1 on the season and have still never beaten the Gators in Florida.
They will look to snap the losing streak Saturday, Feb. 17 at the 2024 Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.
