All lanes closed on State Hwy 23 in Franklin County due to flooding

Officials say all lanes are under high water near log mile 18.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. — All lanes on State Highway 23 in Franklin County are closed due to flooding, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT).

Officials say all lanes are under high water near log mile 18. There is no detour at this time, according to the report. 

Additionally, the National Weather Service reports four residences in the Watalula community in a landlock since 2:40 a.m.

Franklin County Emergency Manager Frank Covert said crews will assess the damage and make a temporary repair.
