Man arrested after fleeing the scene of a deadly crash in Greenwood

The crash occurred on Sept. 16 where a female, aged 61, died after her vehicle was struck, exited the roadway and overturned.

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. — On Friday, Sept. 16, Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) reported a rollover vehicle crash in Greenwood at 6:05 a.m. 

According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety's fatality report, Ruth Greene of Booneville died as a result of the crash.

Reports show that Booneville resident Brandon Stone, was the driver of a vehicle that struck Greene's, causing her vehicle to exit the roadway and overturn. 

Sebastian County Jail records show that Brandon Stone, aged 26, was arrested and booked into jail the day of the crash. He was booked in on a count of the following charges:

  • Leaving The Scene Of An Accident - Injury
  • Careless Driving - Failure to Maintain Control
  • Driving While License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked 

Stone's bond is set at $50,350. He is due in Greenwood Court at 12:30 p.m. on all three charges.
