ARKANSAS, USA — Overnight freezing rain has caused city, county and interstates across Northwest Arkansas and parts of the River Valley to be covered in ice early Tuesday morning.

Monday
A deadly crash occurred early Monday morning on Guyll Ridge Road. According to Lt. Shannon Jenkins with the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the driver of a flatbed truck was hauling equipment and lost control of the vehicle, flipping the truck on its side. As a result, the truck struck a pole and the pole fell on the truck, killing the driver.
A two-vehicle crash was reported in Bentonville on I-49 near mile marker 87.3 with the northbound shoulder blocked. The scene has been cleared.
At 7:40 a.m., ARDOT reported a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on I-49 in West Fork that had traffic at a standstill. No injuries have been reported as a result of the crash but viewer images show traffic is backed up traveling northbound. The scene has been cleared.
The southbound lane on the I-540 bridge in Fort Smith was blocked due to an accident, but is now cleared.
