Traffic moving again after flipped trailer blocks Bobby Hopper Tunnel

ARDOT officials say traffic is stopped in the southbound lanes of I-49 Monday morning after a crash involving a trailer.

An overturned trailer in the Bobby Hopper Tunnel is causing southbound traffic on Interstate 49 to come to a halt.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, as of 7:55 a.m. Monday, May 2, all southbound lanes of traffic are stopped near the Bobby Hopper Tunnel on I-49 because of the overturned trailer in the tunnel.

Rain showers moved into the area early Monday morning, possibly causing issues on the roadways. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.
