According to Ozark Folklore cracking open a seed found in the fruit from a local persimmon tree will show a seed shaped like a spoon, knife, or a fork. Each with implications of the upcoming winter.
A spoon is said to tell of coming heavy snow. A knife, "cutting" cold winds. And a fork, a mild winter with only light powdery snow.
I asked about persimmon's where you live and included your pictures in this story. The majority of persimmon's were "spoons" which could tell of a cold and snowy winter in the coming months.
