PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. — The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit Prairie Grove in the early hours of Oct. 31.
Winds from the tornado were estimated to peak around 95 to 105 mph, according to an NWS report.
The report said the tornado's path was three miles long and 200 yards wide starting at 12:25 a.m.
NWS said the storm developed north of Highway 62 on the southwest side of Prairie Grove and moved northeast, dissipating north of Illinois Chapel Road.
"Numerous homes were damaged in the path of the tornado, some with significant roof damage," the report said. "Trees were uprooted, outbuildings were damaged, numerous tree limbs were snapped, and power poles were blown down."
Prairie Grove Mayor David Faulk and NWS said no injuries or deaths were reported.
"We pray for those homeowners who are waking up to property damage. These are the times in which victims find hope in the help they receive from their neighbors," Faulk said.
The mayor asks that residents separate debris from limbs and trees and place it on the curbside, where crews will pick it up in the following days.
