Semi-truck flooded after heavy rainfall in Scott County

County officials say roads located in parks are quickly becoming impassable and are urging drivers to stay safe and stay home if possible.

WALDRON, Ark. — A semi-truck is nearly submerged after getting stuck due to heavy downpours and multiple waves of rain moving across Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Scott County Emergency Management says the driver of the semi is okay and that no chickens were being transported on the truck.

According to a post shared by Scott County EMS, the semi was stuck before water rose to the levels seen in the picture above.

More widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is likely through most of Wednesday, and officials are urging drivers to stay safe and stay home if their usual travel routes consist of low-lying or poor drainage areas and roads.

There is a chance of one to three inches of rainfall throughout the rest of the day.
