Decatur and Bentonville host FEMA centers for residents impacted by deadly Memorial Day weekend tornadoes

The deadline to apply for disaster assistance is Aug. 28.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened up two centers in Benton County following the storms on May 26 that killed four, injured others, and destroyed countless homes.

Please call 833-285-7448 (dial 2 for a Spanish option) if you need any accommodations, such as a language interpreter. 

Decatur

  • Where: Falling Springs Community Church at 21822 Falling Springs Road
  • When:  8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Bentonville

  • Where: NWACC's Shewmaker Center For Workforce Technologies (Room B103)
  • When: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Arkansas departments, and community partners will be at the centers to help residents from Benton, Boone, and Marion counties. Residents do not need an appointment to visit.

The deadline to apply for disaster assistance is Aug. 28. 

The Small Business Administration also opened a Business Recovery Center in Rogers where business owners and homeowners can submit federal disaster loan applications.

Claudia Anderson with the SBA said they offer up to $500,000 in support for homeowners at a 2.68% interest rate, with $100,000 offered in the case of personal property damage, also with a 2.86% interest rate.
