ARKANSAS, USA — After radar indicated a potential tornado touching down in Rogers, Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas began reporting outages around 5 p.m. on Nov. 4.
At least 1,918 customers in Benton County were without power. Nearly 24 hours later, the number of outages in Benton County gradually fell to 11.
The Siloam Springs Police Department asked residents to stay home due to downed power lines. Because of the severe weather, the city's emergency operations center had to be activated to a Level 2, police said in a post on Facebook.
"There are power outages across the city, power line damage, debris in the roadways, and localized flooding. All city departments are aware of these issues and they are being addressed by the level of safety and importance."
Police ask residents to stay home if possible and stay away from "dangerous areas," as flooding is also an issue in the area.
If you come across any downed power lines, police say to call 911 immediately and do not try to drive across them.
As the storm moved over to Madison County at around 8 p.m., Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas began reporting outages. By 10:50 p.m., 1,105 customers were without power in Madison County, and the next day that number went down to 13.
Additional outages:
- Johnson: 113
- Washington: 62
- Adair 69
- Crawford: 1
