PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. — Severe storms caused widespread power outages in Prairie Grove on Thursday, Oct. 31.

By 6:15 a.m., 1,955 people were without power in Washington County, according to the Power Outage U.S. website.

The school district announced a late start due to this issue, moving the class start time to 10 a.m. Campus doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for parent drop-off, according to officials.

At 10 a.m., the school provided an update stating that school buses were running late but that accommodations would be made.

Mayor Faulk said utility crews were still working to restore power and that more damage could be better assessed in daylight. He also added that city crews would be out in the morning to help with debris cleanup.
