Generally, we picked up snow showers everywhere, but not every location saw it stick. In Northwest Arkansas, we picked up about a dusting. A few places were close to a half inch around Fayetteville. Further south into the mountains, we had a couple of reports from 1 to 2 inches.
Snowfall reports
These reports combine some from 5NEWS and some from the National Weather Service:
- White: Dusting
- Blue: A little more
- No color: Nothing stuck or there is barely a trace of a dusting
Turning cold tonight, some re-freezing
It's going to get cold tonight! We will drop quickly into the 20s across 5COUNTRY this evening and overnight. Winds should start to slow down—finally. It's been nothing but cold, cloudy, and sometimes snowy.
At least the sunshine is coming back! Enjoy the sun for Wednesday and Thursday before more wintry weather returns on Friday. We will also rebound into the 50s for the next couple of days.
What's next
We have some rain changing to snow Friday, but even more snow will hit Sunday night as temperatures plummet to the single digits at night.
- Short-range: It's going to get cold tonight. We'll have sunshine for Wednesday and Thursday. Lots more winter weather is on the way for Arkansas and Oklahoma.
- Long-range: We have two more storms to track. The first one comes Friday morning with rain changing to some accumulation snow (maybe another inch). A second storm arrives Sunday night into Monday bringing just snow (maybe 2 to 5 inches or more).
