FORT SMITH, Ark. — Below is a map that shows storm shelters in cities in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas open to the public.
You can find a list of shelters below the map.
Many shelters do not allow pets. In areas without a nearby shelter, emergency management officials ask people to develop a shelter plan at home or with friends or family instead of driving in the storm.
Anyone with a personal storm shelter is encouraged to register the shelter with their local emergency management department.
