ROGERS (KFSM) – The judge overseeing the case of Benton County Judge Bob Clinard has recused himself, and the case will be sent to circuit court, officials say.

The Benton County judge was originally scheduled to appear before Judge Paul Bridges in Rogers District Court on Tuesday (Oct. 7), but Bridges recused himself from the case, according to officials.

Clinard underwent a successful heart procedure on Aug. 25, three days after he was cited at Frisco Fest in Rogers on suspicion of public intoxication. He was taken away in an ambulance and transported to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

After taking a little time to recover from his procedure, he returned to work on Sept. 2.

Clinard has hired an attorney, but no court date has yet been scheduled for his next hearing, officials said.

Officials declined to give a reason for Bridges recusing himself from the case.
