Northside was the hot up-and-coming team in 2014 and they started that way against Fayetteville in week five. Justin Curry scored from 31 yards out as the Grizzlies took an early lead.
But the second quarter was all about the Bulldogs. Taylor Powell had a pair of touchdown passes, both of which went at least 35 yards, as Fayetteville scored 24 points in the second period to build a 24-13 lead at intermission.
Northside's defense, who ranked near the top of 7A in 2014, anchored down in the second half and held Fayetteville scoreless while Curry found the end zone with less than two minutes remaining to give the Grizzlies the 27-24 win. It was Northside's first win at Fayetteville since 2008.
