SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Springdale Police Department just released new details on the deadly shooting that took place outside Zabana Nightclub on Dec. 17.
The shooting took place around 1:50 a.m. in the parking lot of the nightclub and claimed the life of 21-year-old Steven Ogando Lopez, according to a press release.

Officials said a security guard with the nightclub had kicked Lopez out that night "after causing issues and having a knife on him inside." The guard reportedly told police Lopez went to a vehicle, got a gun, came back, and pointed it towards the security guard who shot him.
SPD responded to the scene and found Lopez with two gunshot wounds and provided life-saving measures until emergency crews arrived. Lopez later died at the hospital.
Officials said the security guard stayed on the scene and "cooperated with the investigation" before being taken to the police station for investigation.
New information
Police said 26-year-old Juan Frias-Villa was kicked out of Zabana alongside Lopez, and that both men were seen on video returning to the nightclub and "striking the exit door with their hands." Lopez was holding a firearm, according to the release.
The two left toward the parking lot, Villa got into a vehicle as the altercation between Lopez and the guard took place. Police said Villa "drove the vehicle towards" another security guard, hitting him. Officials said Villa left the scene but was later found and arrested. SPD said Villa admitted to hitting the other guard with his vehicle and is facing second-degree battery.
Sargeant Matthew Ray with SPD confirms that the security guard who got hit "was treated and released," from the hospital.
Villa is being held on $15,000 bond, according to Washington County records.
